Five years ago I started FreeandEasyGuitar.com, a website that provides free video guitar lessons to the public. To date, we’ve delivered 50 million guitar lessons to visitors in 110 countries. Satisfied users have the opportunity to donate to our charity partners including St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, The Wounded Warrior Project, and World Vision.
Professionally, I represent GERSTEL – a biotechnology company focused on laboratory robotic systems and solutions for chemical analysis – in North Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.
Having lived in the Triangle since 2008, my advice for newcomers is to take time to explore the various municipalities of the Triangle including Raleigh, Cary, Wake Forest, Durham, and Chapel Hill. Each area has its own unique personality, and you should find the one that best fits your lifestyle.
My top tip for success is to care about people. Whether those people are colleagues, employees, or clients, genuine care will always lead you to make better big picture decisions. Some of those decisions may be difficult, but in the long run, I believe caring for people and taking an active interest in them is one thing that has led me to success in my fields. My favorite thing to do in the Triangle is to bike and hike with my dog in Umstead Park. My favorite restaurants are Sola Coffee Café and Spring Rolls in North Hills.
